A professional watercolorist for most of my life, I have, in the past few years, decided to give lessons in this area of fine art. My classical training started in my native Western Pennsylvania at the Pittsburgh Art Institute in illustration. In between living life, and raising a family, I found time to have gallery showings and various professional associations. As a past member of the American Artists Professional League, one of my pieces was selected to represent my home state at a showing in the World Trade Center.
Some 30 years ago I, along with my family, relocated to Hernando County Florida and have been an active member of the art scene ever since. Traveling art shows were the mainstay of my life, as there are not many galleries in this area. Touring took my family from Minneapolis to Miami and everywhere in between. With my main focus on wildlife art, I have shown in the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, SC, the Easton Waterfowl Show in Easton, MD, and the Ward Foundation Exhibit in Salisbury, MD to name a few. Here in Florida you could find my work at the Mount Dora Art Festival, one of the State’s largest. As well as various festivals from Cedar Key to Jacksonville, Mainsail in St. Petersburg, the Raymond James Exhibit in Tampa, and too many more to mention.
More recently, I’ve become semi-retired, and I have explored other facets of my talents by painting small miniatures, gift items, and even large murals. Teaching what I have learned in my years as a professional gives me great satisfaction and has helped enable my new friends to explore their own talents.
